Shared drives

I have a USB hard drive attached to my computer which I would like to
share with other PCs attached to the network. Could someone point me to
a how-to explaining what I need to do, please? I've tried the wiki and
google, but with no luck (probably because my search terms are too broad).

Are you looking to share with Ubuntu machines or Windows/Mac?

Sorry, I should have said, shouldn't I. They will be exclusively Ubuntu
machines.
