Setting priority for Linux Daemons

Can anybody please help me out from a problem....

I am a Java professional and I have careated a server and made it a Linux daemon but I am not able to set the priority for the daemon. Icame to know that using "chkconfig" we can set the priority but I am not getting that....

Try the "nice" command. It worked for me.
