Java vs. Lingo

I have always wanted to make games, and Macromedia's Director gave me
that opportunity. Its OOP language is called LINGO, its similar to
Java.
check out some game I've made as a beginner in Lingo and tell me if
and how long this would take you in C++, Java, VC, etc.

I'd say it took me a combined total of 5 hours per game.

are there any other sites besides Yahoo which offer Java games?
is Java more suitable than Director for games programming?
does Java have a future?

Yes and what kind of a question is that?

Macromedia has done great things to provide a nice interface for
developing multimedia applications. I used Director a long  time ago and
liked it a lot. However, Lingo, which runs inside of Director, cannot
be compared with Java. When was the last time anyone wrote an
enterprise scheduling application in Lingo? How about a distributed
workflow engine? How about a complete back-end for a bank's account
management web site?
