Editing Oddity

I have been using Ubuntu since a couple of versions before Hardy
Heron. I write technical manuals and edit texts written by others.
So, I do quite a lot of Cut, Copy and Paste.

Since updating to Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, there has been a
hassle with the Clipboard. Words and phrases that been Copied
or Cut have been appearing back in my text without being asked.

Letters and emails have had things supposed to be left on the
Clipboard suddenly re-appearing. If I have been working in the
Open Office Word Processor and used the Copy/Paste to move
a sentence, that sentence may re-appear somewhere else in the
saved file. It may not show up until I print a copy of the final edit.

The same thing has happened in Thunderbird. I write something,
decide to cut out a couple of words, yet when the email is sent,
these two words will pop-up in the outgoing mail, usually nowhere
near the place from where they were cut.

All very odd and annoying. Have upgraded to 10.10 Meerkat and
and am hoping that problem was gone away!

Currently using Ubuntu 10.10 with a KDE front end.

Thanks for the heads-up! I haven't noticed that but will surely be on the
lookout.
