I am using an ATI and it works OTB without proprietary drivers using mesa
for 3D. It has an Radeon 5500 chipset. I have also had good luck with
Nvidia, but the Nouveau driver is not as useful so you need the proprietary
driver to get full desktop effects. I have an Intel chipset on my netook
and have had no problems and it has been in use since 9.04.
