getting the sum of the last 20 cells

If the data is in column A, you can try this

lrow = Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Row
ans = Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(Cells(lrow - 20 + 1, 1).Resize
(20, 1))
