Webcam issue

Not sure where you're running into a problem? The old Logitech
Quickcam Express I have works OK, at least as far as feeding
pictures to me locally via Camorama, on 7.10. Suggests the right
driver's available in the kernel. That's why I'm not sure what
software you're looking for in Synaptic? Is the problem getting
it to feed remotely to the server?

I use Camoroma last night and it crashed constantly but today its
working fine.

Im just using this camera right now as a stand in until our new security
camera arrives. That way I can get some coding done. I wrote a script to
take the pictures and upload to a server after installing a water mark
with date and time.

I have an old labtec webcam which is the only one of three webcams
which i have that my Gutsy Gibbon install would recognise even with
the help of the universal driverfrom the website i have entered
below.
It is worth a try though as this brilliant guy has produced this
driver which supports 235 webcams, so with a bit of luck yours
might be amongst them.

Mainly people use VLC for all vids in Linux. However, I use Ogle for mine.
Mplayer use to be great and it takes some work to get any type of vid to play on
it.

Does anyone here know how to get my Zoom webcam working in aMSN v0.97 Kubuntu
8.10. It worked fine under 8.4 so I am stumped. I have downloaded software
such as Jasper I needed to install under the old version but it won't work now
and it doesn't give me any hints other than saying there is no grabber
available.

Any hints?
