Unity Settings

I did a clean install of 12.04 this morning and all went well. I've
been messing around with things a bit here. I've managed to make the
taskbar at the top transparent by using my unity, and now I cannot get
it to change back. It was a solid silver before.

Also, the png images for some of my launchers are gone. there are these
spaces in the middle. I know they still work because they launch, they
are just not visible. Not all of them, just 4.

I managed to fix it. It was just the theme I was using.

Expect to break things a lot whilst learning - took me a couple of
goes to work out what to do and what not to do

Have 12.04LTS downloaded, just need some 'bench time' clear to give it
a workout

Having fun with this! What kind of themes will work with Unity? Ddo I
install them just like I used to do with Gnome?

I think that it is best done through Myunity.

Also this may help if Myunity is not enough choice:
