Ubuntu 7.10 Installation Problem

I recently received the Official Ubuntu 7.10 release disc.

Try as I might, I can not get it to load onto my Acer Aspire 1362
Laptop, not even in demo mode.

I have also tried Ubuntu 6.06 LTS which does load correctly but I can
not find a way of getting the Pluscom drivers installed to make the
WiFi work, that is why I was trying 7.10

Any advice would be most gratefully appreciated

I am just kinda stabbing in the dark here, but what happens if you save the
drivers you need to a CD, then installing 6.06 LTS? PS- You might need to
download the Wine package first if it is a WIndows based driver (though I'm
sure others in the group are more knowledgeable when it comes to emulations
stuff).
