After upgrading to Karmic Koala Picasa does not start.
Error message:

/usr/bin/picasa: line 139: 7112 Segmentation fault "$PIC_BINDIR"/wrapper
check_dir.exe.so
/usr/bin/picasa: line 175: 7208 Segmentation fault "$PIC_BINDIR/wrapper"
regedit /E $registry_export
HKEY_USERS\\S-1-5-4\\Software\\Google\\Picasa\\Picasa2\\Preferences\\
alexandru@alexandru-desktop:~$

I reinstalled it and still does not work.

I solved it.
I got frightened.
sudo aptitude purge picasa

then exited and downloaded the .deb package from the site
then installed it.
Now it is OK.
