Open Office Base in ubuntu 9.04?

Date: Dec 11    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 371

Under applications I can not find the OpenOffice database program (base?). Is
this an optional program? I just downloaded OpenOffice on my XP system and the
database was automatically installed. Is this available for Ubuntu and, if so,
how do I get it installed?

i dont think openoffice base does not come by default in ubuntu. you may
have to install it separately.ubuntu just has the basic stuff like
word,powerpoint,excel support..

The database is not installed by default as it is not used as much as
the other parts. It is called openoffice.org-base. You can find it in
Synaptic by searching for database or openoffice or you can probably
install it from the terminal with: sudo apt-get install
openoffice.org-base

you can install it from Synaptic or the command line. You
will probably also want the report writer, which is not automatically
included with the database.
