sound problem in new 9.04 install

Date: Dec 06    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 305

I recently installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my PC and have no sound. I have an
Audigy sound card but the install fastened on the Intel on-board sound
system and, while the system setup widget seems to know about the audigy
board it refuses to use it. Any suggestions?

Please go into the BIOS and disable your on board sound device. Then it will
pump the sound through the card.

and/or
rightclick the speaker icon next to the date top right
