Modem

Just upgraded from UBUNTU v6.06 to 8.04, what happened to the
"Activate/Deactivate functions under System/Network Settings ??

It should be there. Do you have icon on the panel? If you do right click on it
and them left click on the first item. On mine it says wired network. I think
it has just been changed to be simpler. If its not on panel you can readd it
from the add to panel . Right click on panel and choose add to panel.

They become locked for security. There is an unlock button at the bottom
that calls for a password.

It is Unlocked but they are not there!


If its not on panel you can read it from the add to panel . Right click on panel
and choose add to panel.

Add to panel is not an option given!

Thanks for the help but still unable to access the modem, and yes, it is
configured.
