got another problem, i had Kernel 2.4.7 which i
wanted to upgrade so i downloaded kernel 2.4.17,
everything went fine except of an error message
"modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module char-major-14"
"modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module
char-major-81". apart from this error everyhthing seems
to be working fine. but i dont know what this error
mean, could some one give me the reason why i get this
message and what exactly is the linux box trying to
probe. this message is displayed rite before the date
is set.
