With so many technologies available, is there a set of steps to learn
java and related tech in order. Such as:

1. Java Basics.
2. Java advanced.
3. Jsp.
4. Ejb.
5. j2ee
etc etc.

Anybody knows the path through this. Which is the best book to start
from basic to advanced.

For Java basics, I recommend Computing Concepts with Java 2
Essentials by Cay Horstmann, published by Wiley, (if it is still in
print).

For J2EE/JSP/EJB, I would advise saving a few forests by following
one of the "trails" on the Sun website, before starting any of the
very thick books on the subject.
