Icon change

Date: Feb 12    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 361

I am using Xubuntu 12.04 now since it came out in April.
Today I have had an issue turn up. I brought up FireFox
but couldn't get anything to type on the Google search
line. So I rebooted and when back up my desktop had changed
appearance. I went through the settings manager and pretty
much have things back the way I want them with at least one
exception. On the launch panel on the bottom of the screen
there are some of the icons which no longer have the identity
picture in them, for instance the Browser no longer has the
globe, the mail reader doesn't have the envelope, the terminal
doesn't have the window, and whatever the settings manager had
doesn't show up either. Any idea how to get those back?
Something has obviously changed and I may have last night had
an update manager show up that may have changed something then.
Is there a way to back out an update? The system seems to work
OK for now so if I could just get back the icon look I would
be happy but I can work with it for now the way it is I guess.

It was under settings manager and the appearance
setting for Icons. Not sure which one I set but they are back again.
Bottom line is don't be afraid to play around with settings, you
should be able to get them back, and once you screw it up good and
get it back you learn something, or at least I do.
