Can't open file for writing mean?

Date: Jan 03    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 1280

I am trying to follow the instructions given at:
linux.dell.com/.../Audio_Failure_On_Resume
to get my audio to work.

I am using vi to create the script required in the second step. Every
time I try to save my file, /99-restore-volume.sh/ I get the error:
E212: Can't open file for writing.

What does this mean and how can I get past this?

Are you trying to fix the hibernation problem? Here is a how to
ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php+E1505n
I think this how to would help you out. That error means you disk if full. That
is not the case at all.
