Barcode Scanners and Printers

Asked By: Molly    Date: Aug 08    Category: Java    Views: 1612

I am working on developing a Java Servlet that will
generate barcodes. I need a barcode scanner and
barcode label printer. I am developing in LINUX
environment and have seen plenty of printers for this
purpose. My question to you is what printers and
scanners are compatible with LINUX, in such a way that
i could be able to utilize them through my Servlet.

I know a barcode reader for JAVA (www.barcodelib.com/net_barcode_reader/main.html). It is built in managed C# and support both C# and VB programming. So I think it may work for you.

Hey, I am doing the same thing as yours. What generator are you using? The generator and the scanner in Java that I am using now are from one same site. I am using this Java Servlet barcode generator library(www.onbarcode.com/.../...rcode-create-servlet.html) and this Java scanner(www.onbarcode.com/products/java_barcode_reader/). They are a pare of products. I was wondering why you have a generaor but you do not have a scanner?
