Scanner problem

My Canon N1220U does not work with xsane installed by default on Feisty. It is
detected, but the program hangs when scanning is attempted. This scanner is
supposed to be fully supported by Linux. Has anyone else encountered such a
problem with this scanner?

I've the same problem with my scanner N650U.
