My hobby in Excel is producing League tables,a little time ago in

order to use a Vlookup function I needed Rank my League table

Sequentially (no duplicate values). I used an Array formula I found on

the Microsoft Knowledge base. I won't bore you with the actual formula

which is a long one which works wonderfully, but the answer always

comes up in the function box as "Volatile".anyone knows what this

means? as I say I use this formula often but I don't understand it,so

I decided to use the formula audit so it would take me through it bit

by bit, this caused excel to shut down. I tried it again, same result,

I presume tis is some thing to do with the answer being "Volatile" but

can anyone explain?
