Installing Java 2 SDK 1.4.1 in Windows 2000 Professional

The situation :
I want to install Java 2 SDK 1.4.1 in pc with Windows 2000 Professional, but
the installation give me a warning, it said :
/*************************************************/
We recommend that you do not install this Java(TM) Platform for the
following reasons:

*The Java(TM) Platform does not support the operating-system service pack on
this machine. Please upgrade to service pack 2 from the Microsoft web site.

Continue anyway ?

[Yes] [No]
/*************************************************/
The question :
I see that to upgrade to service pack 2 it could take a long-long time with
my bad internet connection (it could be lucky if the connection couldn't be
broken in the middle). So, what's the side effect (the worst) if I still
continue to install this Java2SDK ?

I have the same experience. You may use service pack 3 from microsoft web
site. The fastest way is (if you install from original CD) you can use
windows update menu from start button. Then a update website is opened,
and you can get service pack 3 from that.
