Need Some Help with a Text Editor - XML Conversion

I'm a beginning programmer who is seeking some help on
a small personal project that I've been working on
lately. I'm attempting to add an extended
functionality to a basic java text editor. What I
want to do is integrate a conversion engine in a text
editor that would allow me to create XML documents.
Does anyone know where I can find the code for
something like this or if this is even possible?

Please let me know and also let me know if there is
anything that I can do for you.

Since XML documents  are just text  documents, I am not sure I understand what you
need help  with. Are you interested in
adding features such as tag auto-completion, constraining the XML document to a
DTD or XSchema document, etc.? Can you
go into more detail about what you expect your final product to be?
