exporting to access

I want to export a column of numbers that have leading
zeros to make a table in access. But when this is imported there are
no leading zeros just a column of numbers. I could in access just set
up a column(field) as text and then manually create the numbers I need
but that seems to lack elegance. I appreciate any help. I have Office
2003.

I don't have Office 2003, but assume what works in 97 will still work ...

If your numbers  in Excel are entered as text  with leading  zeros they will import
to Access as text and keep the leading zeros. If they are numbers formatted to
show leading zeros, I think the easiest thing to do would be to set the format
on your Access database field with zeros.
