Burning audio CD

Date: Jan 23    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 344

I'd like to burn an audio CD for use in my car, using audio from flv and mp4
files. I'm running into errors, various errors from various things I've tried. I
googled this, and the solution I found was "Use Windows." I'd like to not have
to fall back to Windows.

I'm running into errors converting the files from flv and mp4 and haven't found
a solution. I'd like to give you more error info, but I tried several things
last night and ran into several errors and can't keep them straight anymore.

Has anyone done this in a simple way that can be easily "splained?

You can always try recording the audio from these movie files using
Audacity then saving as WAV or MP3 then using those files to create
the audio CD.

I use a program called sound converter from synaptic to convert these
files to mp3. You also need the ubuntu restricted extras in order to be
able to convert to mp3. This is also in synaptic. Then I use k3b to
burn as an audio disk (not as mp3).

Flv is a video format, as you probably know. You can do it from the
commandline using mencoder. I think that Sound Converter in the repositories
can handle the conversion to mp3 then you will be able to make an audio CD
using K3B or similar application. Both are in the repos.

I think you can also use WinFF to first convert the flv and mp4 files to mp3 or
wav before writing them on an audio CD.
