The best burner for Ubuntu is K3B which is KDE, but it works in GNOME.

I'll try to install it then. Uh-oh, too late, my wifi has gone out
again. For a few minutes there with a boosted (strainer) wifi antennae I was
able to pull in the NYCWireless.net and login. Now it won't open. So, my
apartment computer is blind and deaf again.

I don't know why Braserio is giving you grief and it could be a deeper
problem with your hardware. However you could try K3B, the Kubuntu CD/ DVD
burner, which is in the repositories.

With Ubuntu Linux and many others you can find all sorts of programs through
Synaptic by using the same password in Ubuntu, it maybe different in other
Distros. In Ubuntu, click on System, then Administration, and you'll see it as
the Synaptic Package Manager. First, you click Reload, then Mark All
Upgrades...so you get the latest approved updates...you can search for: CD DVD
