apache on my own computer very slow

Date: Dec 25    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 408

I run apache on my computer. http://localhost/, http://wadesmart/, 127.0.0.1....
all are my computer - right. Well, only the last one, the ip works with any
speed. When I type in localhost and the folder it is very slow and getting
slower on opening those pages. And with http://wadesmart its even slower than
the other.

I have turned off all my screens, dumped cookies and cache on Firefox and Opera
and both when used to open the named urls are slow.

Any reason why this would be?

Im not using Virtual Hosts.

127.0.0.1, localhost and wadesmart are ALL the same - assigned by the computer.

If you look at Network Settings under the General tab, Host name: (at least on
my two systems) are both the same as my computer name - in this case wadesmart
on my main computer and wademobile on my laptop.

So if you type in 127.0.0.1 which is the localhost loop back addr, or localhost
or wadesmart - they are all the same thing.

What Im seeing is, the named ips are slower than the actual one.
