jBoss familiars

I started to work with jBoss app server but yet I could not start the server
itself I get the following error when I type "run default" at command
prompt.

>>"could not add shutdown hook"

I also don't know how set Jboss_classpath.please tell me where can I find a
useful documentation about jboss and if anybody can help in case of the
above problems I 'll be grateful if tell me.

You should use JDK 1.3 and there’s no magic involved in setting the jboss  classpath, AFAIK if you get the distro you should just have a JDK 1.3 and JAVA_HOME env var set  and it should work  fine. Btw, why don’t you use www.jboss.org/forums ?
