Quantal Quetzal 12.10 improvements

A good description and run down of what to expect from 12.10. I comes
out in a week and half. Do NOT upgrade if you want to keep the LTS
release.

I don't see any compelling reason to update from LTS.

Nor should anybody. LTS is the baseline. You should *not* go through the
intermediary releases unless you seriously like upgrading and need to stay
with the curve. Stable should suit most people just fine. Once you get off
the LTS curve then you are forced to go through successive upgrades or
re-install at some point. Moving from the LTS model should only be done
with lots of forethought.

The main reason to upgrade to 12.10 is improvements to the desktop
environment itself, whether it is Unity, KDE or GNOME. There has been a
slight performance degradation that some report, so if you are running near
your resource limits then you should be extra cautious.

If you just want to try it out then use a bootable usb key, Live disk or VM
and save yourself a potential headache.
