I haven’t done any Swing+Farsi work. A long long time ago I and my friend Armond Avanes had written a Farsi chat client+server. See some pictures attached. We’re no longer interested in it so I thought it’ll be great to share the source code if someone steps up to maintain and develop it further (or migrate it to Swing!).

I know that in J2SE 1.4 we have great
Internationalization facilities that give you the
chance to add a new locale to the current ones. I
think someone with a good of knowledge of Java
Internationalization can implement Farsi locale with
not much attempt.

The case is that we Iranian java  community will thanks
who can solve this problem forever. you know that if
any one can implement Farsi locale independent from OS
we can be sure that java technology will kick
Microsoft out from this country.

I wrote one, but not in swing  or JFC. It was a simple
experince with Unicode in a java  class.
It works well and practical and simple.
