According to openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi ,
which seems to be the ultimate authority on printing in Linux, that printer
is a "paperweight". I'm afraid you won't be able to find any way that is
even half-way easy to install it and it's probably not worth the effort to
try. I'd suggest you buy one that is listed as compatible on www.//
openprinting.org .

Here's an article that may help. Lexmark support stinks for Linux.
If that's a multifunction printer/fax/scanner, it may be backwards
compatible with this.

Take is back if you can and get an HP Photosmart. These are very easy to
install and there are Linux programs available to enhance the usage. I started
Linux with Red Hat 7.2 and believe me, nothing that I have experienced in Linux
is more plug and play than Ubuntu, with reservations! Just a reminder, always
check hardware compatibility before purchasing new hardware for any operating
system.
