Date: Feb 19    Category: Unix / Linux / Ubuntu    Views: 571

I just had the pop up on my Linux Mint 12 machine say I am running out of room
on my hard drive. Come to find out the error log for CUPS is at 64GB!! Is this
possible and if so how do I solve it?? So far Ive gone into it via a live CD
and delete the file but it keeps coming back.

No idea why the error log would be so large but I've seen others that
report this too, however to clear it type or copy/paste the following
into Terminal and press [Enter]

sudo rm /var/log/cups/error_log*

Have you had many failed print jobs ?

Ive only had a few bad jobs but nothing specific. I have had fails on txt
and picture files.

Curious how it can get that large, just checked mine and it's a mere
2Kb. Did the command line removal work ?

I had a friend that had the same problem. His solution is to upgrade the
distro. It seems to be working now. I am now running Maya.
